What are the Towel Hoodies made from?
Our hoodies are made from 380gsm 100% terry towel cotton, with a plush velour finish on the outside. There's no second layer or waterproof fabric, so they can be worn all year round, even in warmer weather. The cotton is soft on the skin and absorbs water beautifully.
We use a high-grade zip that won't jam in the fabric, so you can zip up quickly after a swim.
What are they used for?
Our towel hoodies are designed for all types of people, from toddlers to the elderly.
Children use them for swimming lessons, pool play & beach trips.
Teens & Adults use them for squad training, aqua aerobics, pool laps, surfing and ocean dips. They are great for camping and holidays too!

Can I get changed under my towel hoodie?
Yes, that's exactly what they're designed for. Throw it on after your swim, zip up, dry off and change underneath, with no need to head into a public change room. It's ideal at the beach, the pool, after a surf or at the end of a cold plunge.

Do they have a waterproof lining? Will they keep my car seat dry?
Our towel hoodies don't have a waterproof layer. They're made from 100% cotton terry, which is what makes them so absorbent and comfortable to wear all year round. The thick 380gsm cotton soaks up water from your body, so if you've dried off a little after your swim, it will generally keep your car seat dry. If you're still dripping wet, we recommend popping a towel on the seat as well.
Are they warm enough for cold plunges and winter swims?
Yes. The thick 380gsm cotton terry traps warmth, and the hood and long sleeves keep you covered when the wind picks up. Zip up straight after a cold plunge, winter swim or ocean dip to warm up fast. However they do not have a waterproof lining, making them suitable for year-round wear.
Do the Towel Hoodies offer sun protection?
Absolutely! They are tested to Australian standards with a result of UPF 50+.
Unlike regular hooded towels or ponchos, our robes have long sleeves and cover most of the body protecting your skin from the sun.
The thick, plush cotton also acts as the perfect insulation when the wind picks up.
What's the difference between a towel hoodie, a swim robe and a poncho?
A poncho slips over the head and can leave arms tangled inside. Sunreal Days towel hoodies have a zip, a hood and long sleeves, so kids can dry off and stay covered while moving freely. It's a towel, swim robe and cover-up in one.
How do I wash my towel hoodie?
Machine wash cold with similar colours, and skip the bleach, soaking and fabric softener. Line dry inside out to protect the colours, or tumble dry on low if needed. Give it a good shake after washing to fluff up the terry loops. There's no need to wash after every swim; just hang it up to dry. You can use the dryer on a low setting if needed.
Do you offer free shipping and easy returns?
Orders ship from our Melbourne warehouse, on the same day if you place your order before before 12 noon. Free shipping on Australian orders over $130 (outside major sale periods). If you're not completely happy, unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery through our Return Centre. Return postage is paid by the customer.
